Buddhist monk performs holistic centre’s opening ceremony

Date published: 01 March 2011

True Serenity’s new premises were officially opened by the Buddhist monk Geshe Lama Ahbay Tulku Rinpoche, who is third in line to the Dalai Lama, today (Tuesday 1 March 2011).

The Centre for Holistic Excellence, previously based on Bury Road, has moved to Suite 2 on the second floor of Blue Pitt Mill in Castleton and to mark the relocation Geshe Lama Ahbay Tulku Rinpoche performed a special opening ceremony.

Friends, family, practitioners and customers joined proprietor Jo Potts from the official opening and enjoyed a tour of the suite and a buffet lunch.

Speaking about the presence of Geshe Lama Ahbay Tulku Rinpoche at the opening Ms Potts, said: “I just thought it was a lovely thing to do.”

The suite is made up of a reception area, three treatment rooms and a large conference space.

Ms Potts said the reason for the move was because the centre had “outgrown” the space at the Bury Road site.

She said: “It is nice to have more space.

“The move has been stressful but it is a nice place to be under stressful conditions!”

Ms Potts said the move marked “total progress” for True Serenity.

She said: “We have progressed and we need a more functional space.”

True Serenity was set up almost two years ago, Ms Potts said: “It has been hard work but it has also been a fantastic learning curve.”

When asked about what is next, Ms Potts said her aim is to “reach out to more people.”
