Curry Club celebrates 2nd anniversary

Date published: 11 February 2011

Rochdale Business Curry Club (RBCC) celebrated its second anniversary on Wednesday 9 February at Veenas Restaurant Club in Heywood.

The group's ethos is based on business networking in an informal and relaxed atmosphere so that people do not feel under any pressure, with no monthly membership fees, and guests only paying if attending the event on the night.

Curry Club Co-Founder, Colin Lambert of CTL Wealth Management Ltd said: "Our aim has always been to connect local businesses and stimulate the local economy, in what are still extremely difficult times for us all. The amount of business opportunities that have been created between our guests as a result of this event is the reason behind our success."

Carmel Lambert of Virtual Typing Services, and Co-Founder added: "We are immensely proud of the way the group has developed and it keeps going from strength to strength.

“Our sponsors Rochdale Online and The Village Hotel, along with the Curry Club attendees, continue to support us and are reaping the rewards from the contacts and relationships they've forged with local, like-minded business people. I encourage those people in Rochdale who are interested in developing their businesses, or interested in extending their networking experience, to come and join us."

The anniversary event played host to GMP Rochdale Acting Chief Inspector, Nadeem Mir and Head of Planning and Regulation at Rochdale MBC, Peter Rowlinson.

Chief Inspector Mir said: "The Co-Founders should be very proud of what they have established. This is a really vibrant event and a great asset to the town and the Borough. It's important that the Police engage with the local business community, and the Curry Club provides us with the perfect opportunity to do so, in a terrific atmosphere."
