The Mayor of Rochdale (Councillor Zulfiqar Ali) officially opened the new RRG Mazda car sales showroom on Kingsway today (Saturday 5 February 2011).
The car store has been open since Tuesday but the official opening was marked with a ribbon cutting this morning.
Lythgoe Mazda and Citreon used to be based on the site but since their closure in November 2009 the plot has lay empty.
Neil Perrin, Dealer Principal, of the Rochdale store, said: "As a group we are thrilled to be back in Rochdale."
Speaking of the first week he said business has been "brilliant."
After cutting the ribbon, Mayor Ali, said: "It is excellent news for Rochdale that we have got big names like RRG coming back to invest in Rochdale.
"Mazda was in the town for a number of years so it is nice to see it back again. It can help to regenerate the local economy and I hope that the people of Rochdale will support this business - here any businesses are welcome.
"I wish RRG Mazda all the success."
