RSM Tenon has been named Best Financial Advisor of the Year at the 2010 Lancashire Business Awards.
The award is in recognition of the high-quality support and advice provided to entrepreneurs and businesses during a particularly challenging 12 months by the firm’s offices in Rochdale, Bolton, Chorley and Preston.
Sponsored by the Northwest Development Agency and Business Link, the Lancashire Business Awards have been running for three years and are often dubbed the ‘Business Oscars’. The coveted awards recognise the achievements of the great and good of the Lancashire business community.
This year, a record number of nominations were made via the Downtown Preston website for the nine awards that were up for grabs, with Preston-based Obas UK being named Business of the Year and Luke Watson from GB Energy receiving the award for Entrepreneur of the Year at Thursday night’s ceremony at Stanley House in Mellor, Lancashire.
The award for Best Financial Advisor of the Year tops off a record-breaking year for RSM Tenon, in which the firm made two substantial acquisitions, moved from the Alternative Investment Market to the Main Market of the London Stock Exchange, launched new branding and reported its tenth successive year of underlying profit growth.
Martin Kirby, regional managing director for the North West at RSM Tenon, accepted the award for the firm. He said: “Over the past year, we have continued to talk to entrepreneurs and our clients throughout Lancashire and the wider North West region. The insights that this has given us mean that we are uniquely placed to offer quality, effective advice to businesses of all types and sizes – whether in growth or decline.
“Although the economy remains very challenging, we have the range of services, the structure, the stability and the track record necessary for future growth and development. Above all, though, this award recognises the quality of each and every one of our people across Lancashire and the wider North West region.”
