Zen Internet’s Head of Marketing in top 100

Date published: 29 July 2010

Andrew Saunders, Head of Product Management and Marketing at Zen Internet, one of the UK’s leading Internet Service Providers, has been voted one of the Top 100 Marketers in the North West.

How-Do’s Top 100 Marketers has been produced with the support of Delineo, Vision+Media and the Chartered Institute of Marketing. The judging criteria included the size, market presence and position of the marketers’ companies, budget, past record and experience, current demonstrable achievements, regional involvement and ability to innovate.

Mr Saunders joined Zen’s senior management team in 2009 and brought an increased focus on the development of services for business customers, introduction of new voice centric services and raising the profile of Zen’s wider product portfolio.

Immediately prior to joining Zen, Mr Saunders worked for a WiMAX Fixed Wireless Access provider, other previous experience also includes time with, Mitel, Samsung and Avaya, where he was responsible for their award winning SME business communications products.

He said: “I am both delighted and surprised to be voted one of the Top 100 Marketers in the North West and would like to thank the sponsors, judges and the How-Do readers. Zen’s mission is to provide the best ISP service in the UK and we are probably most well known for our broadband service but we offer so much more for our business customers.

“As an Internet company Zen has always been at the forefront of its industry. It has a highly skilled, award winning team of experts whose main focus has been always been on the technology and as such was reticent about promoting itself to its customers. As Head of Product Management and Marketing my job is to not only further enhance Zen’s product portfolio and to develop its products and business services, but to actively market them. In line with this, in September Zen will be launching Fibre broadband services that will provide a minimum 15Mbps download speed and the potential for "up to 40Mbps.”

Nick Melvin, Managing Director of Delineo, said:“The How-do Top 100 Marketers recognises the cream-de-la-crème from the depth of marketing talent in the North. Making it on to the list is a real achievement as there are 130,000 people working in the North West’s creative, media and marketing industries in the region. As part of the judging panel that agonised over the Top 100, I can safely say that Andrew's inclusion is an indication of the profile and influence of his work at Zen Internet.”
