Zen Provides Super Speed Connections at Silverstone

Date published: 08 June 2006

Zen Internet is providing multiple broadband connections for Silverstone at the 2006 Formula 1 British Grand Prix. The Internet connectivity will be used by the companies who come into Silverstone.

The companies will use their connections for a variety of purposes including Internet access for their Media Delegates, Photographers Delegates, Technical Trucks, Weather Station, Race Directors and International Stewards. Others will use their connections in various locations at the circuit to make broadband available for Race Officials. Silverstone also have Zen broadband in place for Silverstone TV and Silverstone Radio, who will be broadcasting over Giant Screens onsite at the event and on 87.7FM. In addition to this Silverstone purchased wireless routers from Zen to increase the flexibility of the connections.

The broadband services for this important event all need to be reliable and consistent and the excellent uncontended Zen network will ensure that speeds remain stable, steady and to the highest possible quality. The Zen Events Team took the pressure off the organisers by getting the Office broadband accounts activated in advance and on the usual temporary contract. Zen has previously worked with Silverstone at the Supercar Showdown and the Corona Extra Superbike World Championships in May, allowing quicker activation times over temporary BT lines.

Jacalyn Moody, Events Executive, Silverstone Circuits Limited, commented: “The temporary contract Zen provides is an excellent bonus for us, and the Zen Events Team has proved consistently helpful and efficient in processing our orders. The level of support and communication levels are always to a high standard, and with proven reliability in previous events we knew Zen would be the best ISP to use for this important occasion.”
