RDA staff members, Chris Wall of the Corporate Services Department and Michelle Hilton of the Town Centre Regeneration Team abseil down the 200ft Baitings Dam in Ripponden
Two Rochdale Development Agency (RDA) staff members, Chris Wall of the Corporate Services Department and Michelle Hilton of the Town Centre Regeneration Team, raised £422 for Kidney Research UK by completing a daunting abseil down the 200ft Baitings Dam in Ripponden on Sunday 21 May.
Baitings Dam stands 40ft taller than the Municipal Offices Building in Rochdale Town Centre and holds back the Baitings Reservoir in Ripponden.
Chris said: “Given that I am not the best with heights I am proud of what we did, but even more happy with the amount of money raised, people here really rallied round and I would like to thank every last one of them.”
Michelle added: “The weather on the day was not its best, we had very strong winds and heavy rain which made it even harder, however, there was a great atmosphere there on the day and everyone supported each other. It was a really enjoyable challenge and certainly worth while.”
