Zen Internet providing connectivity at major events
Date published: 30 May 2006
Zen Internet will be providing Internet connectivity at a wide range of major events this summer. The specialist Zen Events Team has made the ISP a popular choice for event organisers who need short-term broadband and fast lead times for events.
In May, the Visa Paralympic World Cup used Zen broadband connections which enabled media access to the Internet throughout the event. The organisers, Fast Track Events Ltd, installed both wired and wireless connections at each venue and the media centre at the official event hotel using the Zen broadband connectivity. Bob Caple of Fast Track Events, commented: “Zen provided a great service through the one month rental period.”
May also saw the provisioning of Zen broadband at the HiFi South Festival through organisers, Mean Fiddler. They were so impressed with the service that plans for Zen to be used at the Leeds and Reading festivals in August are now in progress.
June will see Marshall Arts, a company who promote and arrange international and worldwide tours for major artists benefiting from a high quality Office service from Zen for the Glasgow Bon Jovi gig. This musical theme is set to continue as Zen covers Internet connectivity again for Marshall Arts, across the Elton John Outdoor Summer Tour 2006.
Zen will also be proving its broadband strength in the Ironman UK event in August, with leading sports events service company raceahead choosing the ISP for the Internet connection. As raceahead work with events organisers all over the UK to make sporting events world class, this high quality level must extend across all areas, right through to the broadband connection.
Another company with a focus on sport, Golf Assistant Ltd, will be using a connection to present their new web site and online booking technology at the TGI Scottish Golf Show in June.
This year’s events also follow a successful year in 2005 which saw Zen provisioning events such as the V Festival, Live 8 and the Guardian Soulmates tent at Glastonbury.
Iain Johnstone, Sales and Partner Programme Manager, Zen Internet, commented: “We are very pleased to be involved in such prestigious events across the summer. We regularly provision broadband at many major events using our specialised Events Team, and now have a great deal of experience in making life easier for event organisers.”
