Femfire, a new Rochdale based magazine for lesbians, launched

Date published: 17 July 2006

This month (July 2006) sees the launch of a new lesbian leisure and lifestyle magazine published in Rochdale covering Manchester and the North West.  Its editorial mix marries girl glamour with boy toys and fast cars, with the publishers claiming that its content will be unrivalled by any other local or national lifestyle glossy - editorial covers sport, property, beauty, fashion and events.

A spokeswoman for the publishers said: "The magazine is set to become a leading authority informing lesbians and funky women. Think loud but well articulated cheeky chic and you're there.

"Refusing to conform to stereotypes, the magazine will feature luxury and extravagance, making no apologies for wanting the best every time!

"Femfire is ideal for the busy city chick that it’s written for."

With an initial circulation of 10,000, the publication anticipates around 30,000 "career minded, fashion aware, fun loving women readers".

The magazine will be distributed free through bars, clubs, gyms, salons and other high people traffic venues.
