Rochdale based company, Eco Bins cleaning services, have been presented with the Green Organisation Award for Best Environmental Practice. The bin cleaning company, who provide a specialised bin washing service, were given the award as one of few environmentally friendly bin cleaning companies in the UK.
The service provided by the Littleborough business fully complies with European directive Environmental Health conditions. None of the water used to clean the bins is poured down the drain; the water passes through several catchment filters and is then multistage filtered down to 0.3 of a micron purity. The service covers all sizes of bin, from domestic to commercial.
The simple cleaning process used, ensures that bins are left spotless, whilst all of the water used in the process is collected and recycled. A hydraulic ram lifts the bin into position, then high pressure water jets blast away the dirt inside the bin and any other marks are removed by a hand lance. Any excess water is drained back into the system and the bin is coated with a disinfectant and a bouquet deodoriser.
Eco bins now provide their services to hospitals and to major European restaurant chains. Their sister company, based in Rochdale’s twin town Bielefeld, clean bins for the armed forces in Germany, and soon the services they provide, which are a legal requirement in the EU, will become a necessity in the UK.
