Rochdale-based haulier wins major company accolades

Date published: 11 December 2006

Rochdale haulier, Leach Distribution, has won the prestigious Depot of the Year Award for their achievements within the Pall-Ex network for the third year running. Pall-Ex specialises in the transport and distribution of consignments of palletised freight through a network of hauliers who are responsible for collection and delivery in their geographical area. Leach Distribution serves the Lancashire region from its site in Rochdale.

The Depot of the Year award is won by the member of the Pall-Ex network receiving the most votes from the 100 depots that form the network. The presentation took place at the Pall-Ex Tenth Anniversary Dinner Dance at the Celtic Manor Resort, near Cardiff.

Leach Distribution Limited has an impressive fleet of 50 vehicles and works out of a 200,000 sq ft site. They have been members of the Pall-Ex network since 1998.

In recognition of the excellent and consistent performance of Leach Distribution over the last three years, Pall-Ex presented the company’s Depot Principal, Paul Shaw with a new Special Achievement Award. In presenting the award, Hilary Devey, MD of Pall-Ex, said: “I think Paul should set up a school of excellence for the Pall-Ex network. I congratulate Leach Distribution and Paul on this excellent result and wish them well for the future.”

Paul Shaw said: “I was very surprised and delighted to receive these awards. We are proud to have won again and it is really down to the tremendous team I have working with me.”
