Generation Centre for sale - tenant fears

Peter Round and Asad Masood, the company directors of switchit4u.com, were surprised to find surveyors measuring their offices at the Generation Centre on Dane Street recently. “Its for sale” a Chamber of Commerce spokesman told them. Having only recently moved into the premises they were concerned that because the Chamber of Commerce were selling the premises they may have to move.
Mr Round said said: "It took a lot of time to find these offices which are centrally located. We are hoping to employ staff locally but we do need some security of tenure.”
A spokesperson for the Chamber of Commerce later reported that all the tenants in the Dane street offices should not be concerned. Their tenancy agreements would remain in place.
switchit4u.com is one of the latest businesses to set up in Rochdale, they are a price comparison web site that searches the internet to find customers the cheapest suppliers for their gas and electricity.
