Zen Internet provides broadband for Rochdale Football Club
Date published: 08 February 2007
Rochdale Football Club relies on the internet for most functions including general organisation and contacting sponsors, which makes intermittent, unreliable connections and poor speeds not an option. With fans and press waiting to be informed, time is of the essence when the latest results and news about the club need to be published on the web site.
Zen Internet has supplied a high speed Office connection with download speeds of up to 8mbps and the upload reaching up to 832kbps. Now uploading to the club web site can occur at a much faster rate, with video and audio files alongside news articles being put up in a timescale previously unseen.
Zen also offer technical and customer support, which the club staff found was an important part of running an Internet connection.
Stuart Ashworth, Media Officer, Rochdale Football Club commented: "This Broadband service is excellent for us, and the increased upload speeds mean that web site maintenance and updates are more efficient. From a cost effective point of view, we are now saving time which can be allocated to other tasks, but we also have access to a first class Zen support team. Through experience we have realised that knowledgeable staff who are available at the local call rate are an invaluable asset to a good service.”
Iain Johnstone, Sales and Communications Manager, Zen Internet said: “We are delighted to be working with Rochdale Football Club and to be providing them with high speed Broadband access essential to their daily work. At Zen we always look to be involved in local commitments wherever possible, this includes ongoing work with Rochdale charity Springhill Hospice, and now we have branched out further by connecting the local football club.”
