New look business centre opens

Date published: 19 February 2008

The refurbished Evans Business Centre opened its doors to Rochdale’s business community today (19 February 2008) designed to encourage the growth of small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) in the local area.

Mayor of Rochdale, Councillor Peter Evans, officially opened the 20,000 sq ft Evans Business Centre, formerly the Generation Centre which has undergone an extensive refurbishment programme costing almost £300,000.  Part of the UK’s leading workspace network for small and growing businesses, the centre has a total of 32 offices and 21 workshops units.  Additional services including secretarial support, reception services and meeting/training rooms are also available.

Mayor Evans said: “I am delighted to perform the official opening of Evans Business Centre, Rochdale.  The encouragement of entrepreneurship is vital to the local economy here and Evans Easyspace provides the right kind of business space to support start up and developing businesses and offers valuable opportunities for local people.  Evans Business Centre will contribute to Rochdale’s economic development, creating jobs in companies which establish their business here and I wish them all a very successful future.”

Tom Stokes, Evans Easyspace managing director, said: “Evans Easyspace has a proven record of achievement across the UK and we are very proud to have brought our concept to Rochdale and to be supporting the local business community.  The high number of lettings in this centre clearly demonstrates the need for high quality, flexible workspace in this area.  The renting of workspace is usually the biggest cost for a small or medium sized enterprise and the unique flexibility offered by Evans Easyspace provides quality accommodation at competitive rates and with a rolling two month licence deal, so our clients don’t have the anxieties associated with a long term lease.”

The Evans Business Centre offers the unique Evans Easyspace easy-in, easy-out terms with a rolling 2-month licence deal, no legal costs and telephony and broadband.  Evans Business Centre is located within half a mile of Rochdale town centre and is just a short walk away from local bus and rail links.
