British Small Business Champions

Date published: 20 February 2008

British Small Business Champions (BSBC) 2008 invites entries from established, thriving businesses that are well run and highly regarded by customers and staff to enter BSBC 2008. Businesses must have been trading for at least five years and not employ more than 50 staff.

Six area champions will be selected across the UK. From these six, one business will be chosen as the BSBC National Champion 2008.

There are two additional categories, which have been chosen because the FSB wants to encourage the next generation of small businesses.

  • BSBC Young Entrepreneur 2008, who must be 21 or under at the date of entering.
  • The Most Promising New Business 2008 which must have been established after November 2006.

As well as prestige, pride, publicity and profile raising there are prizes!

  • Each Area Champion, The Young Entrepreneur, and The Most Promising New Business will be awarded £1,000 to spend to the benefit of their business.
  • The National Champion prizes will include £10,000 to spend to the benefit of their business.
  • They will all be presented with a splendid trophy to keep.
  • They will all be provided with artwork of their title, e.g. Southern Area Champion BSBC 2008, to use on their company's stationery, marketing materials, etc.

BSBC was founded by the Federation of Small Businesses in 2002 to celebrate the achievements of and gain recognition for the UK's small businesses. BSBC is the only national awards scheme solely for small businesses.
