Young Enterprise Company final at Rochdale AFC

Date published: 16 March 2007

The countdown has begun, in just over one week young people across the borough will be at the centre of the Rochdale, Oldham and Bury Area Board enterprise stage, pitting their company against ten others at the Young Enterprise Rochdale, Oldham and Bury Area Board Final. With a few days to go, they are adding the final touches to their presentations, buying the last decorations for their trade-stands and quietly memorizing the words of their previously scribed company report.

The annual final, organised by Young Enterprise North West, has many aims, educating young people about the world of business, teaching them communication and team-working skills, building their confidence and introducing them to real business people.

However, there is one very important purpose to the afternoon of Thursday 22 March, and that is to find the Rochdale, Oldham and Bury Area Board Company’s of the Year 2007. During the next stage of competition the winner will have the opportunity to present at county level with other winning Greater Manchester company’s and, if they do well there, move to the North West and potentially the National Finals.

For the afternoon local volunteers and business owners will be making their way to the Rochdale Football Club, to secure their seats. They know that this is their chance to watch their teenage protégé’s do them proud and demonstrate the outstanding business future that Rochdale, Oldham and Bury Area Board has before it. To make sure you’re there to witness it, email christopher.lewis@youngenterprisenw.org at the Rochdale, Oldham and Bury Area Board and get your name on the invite list.
