IoD kicks off North West Annual Conference

The Institute of Directors (IoD) North West Annual Conference is set to take place at the City of Manchester Stadium on Thursday 28 February. Keynote speakers at the event will include the Director General of the IoD, Miles Templeman, and the Manager of Manchester City Football Club, Sven Goran Eriksson.
The event is a chance for attendees to gain an insight into the successes of the North West’s top directors and have the opportunity to discuss the best ways to achieve their own goals in 2008. The event kicks off at 8.30am and throughout the day there will be seminars and panel discussions with prominent business figures including IoD North West Director of the Year and managing director of First Transpennine Express, Vernon Barker and NCC Group plc Chief Executive, Rob Cotton. The day will be chaired by well-known BBC North West Tonight presenter, Mark Edwardson.
Following lunch, which includes a keynote address from Phil Redmond, the Deputy Chair of The Liverpool Culture Company, Sven Goran Eriksson and Shadow Chancellor, George Osborne MP, will be quizzed throughout the afternoon, during further keynote addresses.
Newly appointed Regional Director of the IoD, North West, Darrell Matthews commented: “The Conference is a fantastic opportunity for Directors across the North West to meet and exchange ideas with a host of influential peers. The North West continues to produce business people who reach the top of their chosen fields, and the IoD has a real influence on the issues facing North West business.”
