Business travel survey
Date published: 28 March 2007
The British Chamber of Commerce has launched a new survey in collaboration with the RAC Foundation to look into business travel during the normal working day. They are seeking to understand how and what methods to travel are used during the day and what might be done to reduce this need.
Technology is changing fast and already it is possible to use video or teleconferencing facilities that negate the need to travel. There are also many company initiatives designed to reduce car travel and to encourage the use of public transport.
However, there are many barriers that currently exist such as the availability of broadband or access to bus routes which make car travel necessary.
The survey can be completed at:
Rochdale Local Policy Manager of the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce Carol Hopkins says: "This has the potential to be a really useful piece of work and I hope you will be able to find the time to participate. Please do not hesitate to contact Sarah Johnson on sarah.johnson@gmchamber.co.uk if you have any questions."
The survey will end on Friday 11 May.
