e-Commerce Financial Assistance Project

Date published: 21 February 2008

The Manufacturing Institute is currently delivering assistance to manufacturing SMEs in full ERDF2 areas of North West England to assist them to diversify online.

A summary of the project follows:

  • The project is open to applications until early June 2008.
  • Up to £2,500 assistance is available or 50% of eligible project costs, whichever is the higher.
  • The recipient of the grant has to be a manufacturing SME. Number of employees less than 250.
  • The business has to be located in an eligible ERDF2 area of the North West. We check postcode and advise.
  • The project has to enable the business to 'diversify online'.  i.e. access new markets, work in new ways, increase turnover. Not just a makeover of existing site.
  • The outcome is evaluated once the project is operational.  This will involve an assessment of additional turnover, job creation, job safeguard, other added value.
