National award for car bodyshop

Date published: 25 September 2009

A Rochdale car bodyshop has been given a national award in recognition of its contribution to staff development.

Commercial Contract Engineers Ltd, based on Queensway's Eagle Technology Park, won the Bodyshop Training Award at the Bodyshop Magazine 2009 awards ceremony.

The national awards concentrate on the car bodyshop industry. The Independent Bodyshop training award was introduced last year and Commerical Contract Engineers have won it on both occasions. The award is recognition of the bodyshops that are continually investing in both staff and equipment development.

CCE managing director Michelle Walker said: "The award is recognition of all the teams’ hard work and determination during what has proven to be a difficult 12 months.

"It is with great pride and honour that we accept the award for the second year running and I would personally like to thank all the staff for their continued support and dedication."

There was more success for Rochdale at the ceremony. Fran Barker, of Sprayworks Auto Body Repair Centre, was a finalist in the painter of the year category, while CCE were also finalists for the CV Bodyshop of the Year award.
