RBH invites tenders for new UPVC window contract

Date published: 16 April 2007

Rochdale Boroughwide Housing (RBH) was set an ambitious target by the Government to bring its housing stock up to the decent homes standard when it was established in 2002.  Due to the hard work and commitment by all staff, the company has not only met this target, but has achieved it four years early in its “Raising the Standard” programme.

The next step for RBH is to maintain and build upon the standard already achieved.  As part of this process, it has recently launched a tender for a new UPVC window contract to cover responsive repairs.  The contract is for three years and has an estimated value of more than £500,000.  RBH will be looking for highly motivated suppliers who can provide exceptional quality and service in order to meet tenants’ exacting needs.

RBH is actively encouraging local suppliers to participate in this tender by working closely with Rochdale Online and the Chamber of Commerce to promote it as widely as possible.  Roger Ellis, Chief Executive at Rochdale Council has signed up to the Small Business Concordat at the recent Buy Local, Spend Local event held at the Town Hall, which RBH attended.  Our long-term procurement strategy reflects an equal commitment, aimed at boosting the local economy.

If any companies are interested in participating in the UPVC Window contract, the official OJEU notice can be found at:

Or they can express their interest by emailing Thomas Daubney:

And completing a pre-qualification questionnaire.

The deadline for returning the pre-qualification questionnaire is 17 May 2007.
