Accountancy firm Tenon have announced a 9% revenue increase to £29 million across its North West offices, which includes Rochdale.

The company defied the recession to increase underlying operating profits by 8% to £19 million, while the dividend per share was up by 7%.

Peter Donnelly, Office Managing Director of the Bolton and Rochdale offices of Tenon, said: “This financial year has shown our ambition and agility in a very challenging marketplace. We have continued to meet the targets set before the recession and have reported increased profits for the ninth consecutive year, which is a remarkable achievement."

Current market conditions has encouraged the growth of Tenon's insolvency and turnaround service, Tenon Recovery, with a 67% increase in turnover in this area across the North West.

The company has also continued with its expansion strategy, acquiring Rochdale-based HWSEG Limited, an established specialist medical accountant and tax adviser, in February.
