New PR firm to help publicity shy businesses

Date published: 09 May 2007

Publicity shy businesses in North Manchester will be given the chance to learn the art of self-promotion as new public relations firm, Primo PR, launches its Profile Builder Workshops.

The initiative aims to give businesses a crash course in how to build a positive profile using various public relations tools, helping them to engage their audiences and, ultimately, attract and retain customers. In addition, the three-hour workshops will take a closer look at issues faced by individual companies and recommend tailored activity to help boost their image.

Primo PR’s Directors, Justine Stevenson and Cheryl Davies, have devised the workshops to provide companies that would not usually consider public relations in their marketing mix with some tools of the trade that will give them the competitive edge.

Cheryl explained: “In the day-to-day bustle of running a business there isn’t always time to think about promoting the good work that is being done. Some business men and women are also shy when it comes to shouting about their achievements, but creating a sustained level of awareness is essential to long term success, and this is where dedicating some time to PR can make all the difference.

“Both myself and Justine have worked at a high level on the Manchester PR scene for some years, and felt that agencies tend to overlook smaller companies, and new business start ups in particular. But these types of businesses can benefit just as much from public relations – not only can it build relationships with the target market, it can also give customers a level of detail about a product or service that advertising can’t. We are confident that the Profile Builder Workshops will make PR more accessible for businesses in North Manchester.”
