Planning approval marks Kingsway official launch

Date published: 09 May 2007

Kingsway Partnership (Wilson Bowden Developments and North West Regional Development Agency) officially launched its £350m, 170 hectare (420 acre) business park - Kingsway, Rochdale - to the market this week with tours of the site held on 8 May for regional businesses and 9 May for property agents.

At launch, it announced that it had received planning approval (Class B1, B2 and B8) for two industrial units on Plot E at the park at Junction 21, M62, Rochdale including associated parking, landscaping and servicing.

The two units have a gross internal area of 3,112 square metres (33,500 square feet) for Unit E2(A):2 and 2,787 square metres (30,000 square feet) for Unit E2(A)1.

Commenting on the new approvals and the market launch of Kingsway, Robert Grafton, Development Director of Wilson Bowden Developments said: “Kingsway Partnership is already in occupation discussions on Plot E and announcements will be made in due course.  We are heartened by the level of interest being shown in Kingsway even before its official market launch [this week].  I sincerely believe that the product and location offered by Kingsway will continue to attract the high levels of interest that we have encountered over the last 12 months.”

Following this new amended planning approval, Plot E now provides five units in total – the two above plus E1A 3,251 sq m (35,000 sq ft), E1B 1,858 sq m (20,000 sq ft), E2(B) 5,210 sq m (56,000 sq ft).

Designs for the buildings have been drawn up by DLA Landscape and Urban Design.

Erinacious Group and Jones Lang Lasalle are the appointed agents on the Kingsway, Rochdale for Kingsway Partnership.

The Kingsway Partnership has created a three dimensional model of Kingsway Business Park, which measures 2.1m x 2.4m built to scale.  The model is available on public view at the Wheatsheaf Library from Friday 4 May 2007 within the Reference Library area.  The Wheatsheaf Library is open 9.30 am until 7.30 pm on Monday, until 5.30 pm Tuesday to Friday and until 5 pm on Saturday.
