Bamford business man launches Bollywood Beer

Date published: 17 May 2007

Bamford based businessman Paul Campbell, owner of Rochdale based company Cerevina has launched a new niche brand Bollywood Beer into the UK market. The beer, which has been specially created to complement Asian cuisine in particular, was first conceived on the beaches of Goa and now looks set to become one of the most popular specialist beer brands on the market.

The timing of the brand's launch in the UK coincides with the announcement that the UK will this year play host to IIFA (The Bollywood Oscars); a glittering weekend event hosted by Leeds, Bradford, Sheffield, York and Hull.

Bollywood Beer is brewed to a centuries old traditional style, which uses only the finest malted barley, hops, yeast and water - nothing else.

Mr Campbell said: "It is the pureness and simplicity of the brewing process that makes Bollywood Beer the perfect accompaniment to Asian food. Its simple clean taste complements perfectly the complexities of Asian cuisine.

"The Asian restaurant community in the UK is one the most important sectors in this country's booming restaurant industry. With a vastly growing number of innovative Asian chefs experimenting with traditional and new ingredients and many newer fusion styles, Asian cooking is now one of our favourite cuisines and with the arrival of Bollywood Beer we now have the perfect drink to enjoy it with."

Cerevina will unveil a number of promotional events publicising the new brand over the next few months. Manchester will play host to the first Bollywood Beer launch party, which will enable wholesalers, restaurateurs, media and key public figures to get to know more about this niche brand.

The launch will take place at the Rajdoot Tandoori Restaurant, Albert Square, Manchester on 24 May for invited guests.
