Groundwork appoint new manager to promote Commercial Services

Date published: 04 August 2009

Groundwork Oldham & Rochdale have appointed a new Commercial Services Manager to lead the newly formed commercial arm of the Trust.

Phil Treaton was recruited to the post in early July, having previously worked for Groundwork for almost a decade. Mr Treaton started his Groundwork career straight from university on the unique graduate volunteer programme, rising through the ranks to become Programmes Manager before leaving for a role with the Forestry Commission.

He said: “I am really pleased to be back with Groundwork. My last job allowed me to gain many new skills and, in addition to what I had learned previously with Groundwork, they will stand me in good stead for my new role.”

He returns to Groundwork with the responsibility of securing income for Groundwork’s Landscape Design, Contracts and Construction teams. Mr Treaton would really like to hear from anyone who has an idea for a project or is from the construction industry with employees requiring construction based training.

Cliff Ellison, Executive Director, Groundwork Oldham & Rochdale, said: “I am delighted that Phil has accepted this challenging new role and am very confident that he will further enhance the quality of what we offer.”
