Sales Academy to tackle downturn

Date published: 23 July 2009

Greater Manchester Chamber has launched a new sales academy to help businesses improve their selling techniques during the downturn.

The new academy, which is being run by Business Support Solutions (BSS), shows how companies can get every member of staff involved in the sales process.

Gemma Lockett, Training Consultant at BSS, said: “In these difficult times businesses need to be striving to optimise every sales opportunity.

"By enhancing the skills of those employees that don’t have sales targets, but have regular contact with customers, you are increasing the opportunities to generate revenue for your business and increase the overall level of efficiency.”

The training units offered by the new academy have been specifically designed for people at every level, ranging from those who either do not currently sell or are new to sales, to existing sales people that are keen to develop their knowledge and skill base, to sales managers keen to optimise their sales opportunities and drive their teams to sales success.

Over 600 clients trust BSS to deliver the training they need to run a successful business. Its latest training programme is packed with over 80 workshops and seminars covering management, sales, financial, health & safety, international trade, office skills and personal & professional development.

BSS also designs tailor-made courses at venues to suit the requirements of individual businesses.
