Award-winning mobile surveillance firm books date with Royalty

Two representatives from Wireless CCTV Ltd (WCCTV), based on College Road, are to visit Buckingham Palace on Monday (13 July) after the firm was awarded the equivalent of a company knighthood in this year’s Queen’s Awards for Enterprise.

David Gilbertson, Managing Director, and Ian Ramsdale, New Product Development Manager, will attend a special evening reception for 2009 Queen’s Award winners, to be hosted by Her Majesty The Queen and other members of the Royal Family.

Wireless CCTV won its Queen’s Award for Innovation in April. The firm specialises in mobile surveillance solutions and was commended for the continuous development of its wireless, closed circuit television Dome systems.

Wireless CCTV's client base incorporates 350 UK Local Authorities, more than 35 UK Police forces, the Highways Agency and a number of commercial companies.

David Gilbertson, Managing Director, said: “I am very proud that the hard work of WCCTV's employees has been recognised in the grant of a Queen's Award for Enterprise. Both Ian Ramsdale and I feel immensely honoured at the thought of going to Buckingham Palace. We firmly believe that this independent endorsement of what the company has achieved will be a springboard for WCCTV during the coming years as we seek to expand our business into overseas markets."

The Queen’s Awards for Enterprise exist to champion the UK’s most enterprising, creative and sustainable organisations from all business sectors. Companies can apply for an Award in three categories: International Trade, Innovation or Sustainable Development. It costs nothing to enter, and The Awards are open to any UK-based business with two or more employees.
