PH Research relocates to Middleton

Date published: 29 May 2007

Middleton-based market research company, PH Research relocated to Malta Mills on Mills Hill Road last month in a bid to snare local job hunters in the area.

PH Research specialises in market, opinion and social research. Previously based in Oldham town centre, the directors decided that after 15 years and successful company growth, they needed to move to larger offices.

The appeal of the modern and spacious offices of the Mills and the proximity of a wide and varied employment market in Middleton made the decision easy for the company.

Director, Paula Hoath, who was in charge of the move said: “We knew that the location was perfect in our search for market researchers. We were only reticent about moving because we knew it could be a tumultuous task to assist us with all of our technical equipment.

“If we had lost communication with our customers and staff it could have been irrecoverable. There were a few scary moments but thankfully Plum Communications saved the day.”

Although the move went well, it wasn’t all plain sailing. PH Research’s previous telecommunication suppliers had not finished work on the landlines, which caused delays and at one point PH Research were operating from two sites. The new offices needed new cables installing meaning that engineers had to dig up holes in the road outside.

Oldham telecommunications experts, Plum Communications, took control and managed to remedy the situation by acting as intermediaries with the old suppliers.

Peter Savic, lead consultant on the project kept lines of communication open consistently during the move. He said: “ It is very rewarding to be a small part of a company’s growth. Job hunters should have no problem in getting in touch!”
