Off-licence chain wound up under £1.7 million tax debt

Wardle based off-licence chain Liquorflow Ltd has been wound up, with HM Revenue & Customs claiming that the company owes £1.7 million in unpaid tax.
The business has been taken over by the Public Interest Unit of the Official Receiver.
The last filed accounts for the company, owned by Akeel, Shakheel and Imran Awan, show a profit of £210,983 on turnover of almost £5.2 million for year ending 31 August 2006.
