Businesses to have say on road pricing

Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce
Rochdale businesses have the opportunity to air their views on the controversial proposals to introduce congestion charging on all routes into Manchester.
Speaking of behalf of Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce, Carol Hopkins, local policy manager for Rochdale, said: “It is clear something must be done about congestion and doing nothing does not seem to be an option.
“It is vital that Rochdale’s business community gives its views on the proposals so we can pass them on to the people drawing up the bid.”
The full proposals will be outlined at a meeting on 4 July between 9am and 10.30am at Hopwood Hall College Rochdale Campus. A representative from Greater Manchester Passenger Transport Executive (GMPTE) will give a presentation followed by questions from the audience. If you would like to attend, email congestioncharging@gmchamber.co.uk or call 0161 237 4073.
