Richard Grindrod appointed Project Manager for Highways and Engineering

Date published: 17 July 2007

The Impact Partnership has announced the appointment of Richard Grindrod as Project Manager for Highways and Engineering.

Rochdale born Mr Grindrod is said to have a wealth of experience in project management but found career opportunities in Rochdale scarce, which meant him working in London for the past six years returning to his home town every weekend.

Mr Grindrod has previously worked on a number of major capital projects both in the UK and overseas, such as the Channel Tunnel Rail Link.

He said: “I never thought there would be an opportunity for me to work in Rochdale and so I was very interested when I saw the advertisement about Impact’s Jobs Fair. On the back of the Jobs Fair I was extremely keen to be part of a team which not only provides a vital service to Rochdale but will also play a key role in the exciting regeneration and future development of the borough.”

Impact’s John Cheetham, Director of Highways and Transportation, commented: “I am delighted that we have been able to further strengthen the team bringing private sector project management expertise into the public sector and this is a great example of Impact attracting experienced and skilled professionals into Rochdale. Richard will be an asset to the team and be able to provide Business Improvement to support the regeneration agenda.”
