WEI helps Stephanie Kelly springboard new business

Date published: 21 August 2007

Stephanie Kelly approached Rochdale Women's Enterprise Initiative (WEI) to help springboard her new business. With one-to-one mentoring and marketing support together with finance workshops, Stephanie is now moving ahead with the business.

Through her WEI business mentor Stephanie is now working on a pilot scheme with a leading dentist to introduce the benefits of Sophrology for nervous patients. Stephanie is originally from Cannes where she developed an early interest in alternative medicine, with her father being an osteopath and her mother working in the nursing profession.

Stephanie commented: “I have been looking for help with my business for the last two years. I have now found this support through the Women’s Enterprise Initiative, who have guided me to the point where I now have the tools and skills to progress.”

After studying Sociology and Anthropology, Stephanie continued to lean towards alternative therapies and personal development, considering turning her childhood passion into a career.

During this time, a friend remarked on the soothing qualities of her voice and suggested she train in a well established method of relaxation using the voice, namely Sophrology.

Sophrology is a scientific and medically approved method and application of deep relaxation to help patients in both medical and personal development.
