Town Centre Management column

We are currently working together with Link4Life and Rochdale Council on a local ambassador programme for the town centre.
This will involve using volunteers from key locations to create a good impression of the town centre, by greeting visitors and passing on their knowledge of Rochdale's attractions. We hope this will help us to instil some much needed pride in the town centre and improve visitor perceptions.
There are lots of great new things being launched at Boots in the Rochdale Exchange Shopping Centre at the moment. Sarah Jessica Parker has just brought out 'The Lovely Collection', which consists of three perfumes, named 'Dawn', 'Endless' and 'Twilight'. At the moment if you buy the fragrance you receive a free jewellery box, making it perfect for Mother's Day.
It's also well worth noting that the lovely staff at Boots are doing tailor-made Mother's Day gifts. Just tell the No7 or fragrance staff what your Mum likes, and they will happily help you put something together just for her. There is half price on selected electrical gifts in store too.
Children can enter the Boots Mother's Day picture competition; all they need to do is draw a picture of their Mum and hand it in to someone in store along with their name, age and telephone number by the end of Saturday 21 March. There are two age categories, 3-7 and 8-12.
A brand new special product has just been launched: the Boots Smooth Intense Pulsed Light Hair Reduction System and it can achieve permanent hair reduction in just 6-12 weeks! There is currently an introductory offer on this product of £249.99.
The Wheatsheaf Centre Shopping Centre is having a great Mother's Day giveaway on Sunday 22 March between 12pm and 4pm. Call in and collect your copy of 'World's Greatest Mums', which is a little book of love from local Rochdale children to their Mums packed with Mother's Day poems and art.
On Sunday 11 April the Wheatsheaf are running a 'Teddy Bears Picnic and Crafty Kids Workshop'. Children (aged 4-13) make their own bear/ ragdoll and decorate it using clothes/accessories of their choice. Bear, ragdoll and bunny characters will also be there to entertain the younger children with fun and games.
There is an Easter extravaganza on Saturday and Saturday 11 at the Rochdale Markets. On the fourth there will be a colouring competition to win a fabulous craft set kindly donated by WH Smith. You can also sample delicious hot cross buns and mini Easter eggs and see real live baby chicks. Tasty Bite Cafe invites you to guess the name of their very own Easter bunny for the chance to take it away. The lucky winner will be announced on Saturday 11 April, all proceeds will be donated to Springhill Hospice. Then on the 11th you can decorate your very own Easter bonnet and take part in a special Easter egg trail with a chance to win a giant Easter egg.
