Rochdale residents seek the sun despite the crunch
Date published: 16 January 2009
Despite the global economic downturn Rochdale residents are still looking for some fun in the sun.
One town centre travel agent has seen an upsurge in holiday bookings this month as people search for warmer winter climes.
The Co-Operative Travel in Rochdale's Westgate store has seen an increase in the number of people wanting to immediatley escape the current winter weather and those who wish to book in advance for the summer season.
Westgate Branch manager, Gary Manners said: "At a time when many people are feeling the pinch it's reassuring to know that the traditional two week family trip is still important to local people."
