Apprenticeship open evening for parents and school leavers
Date published: 13 November 2008
An open evening will be held at Rochdale Training in Fishwick Street on Thursday 27 November 27, 5-8pm, to help school leavers and their parents find out more about Apprenticeships, which provide a full-time job, a wage, professional training and career prospects with a local company.
Attendance is free and many employers, along with training staff, will be available to answer all questions.
Rochdale Training has provided apprenticeships locally for more than 40 years. The not-for-profit company offers apprenticeships to 16 – 24 year olds in a wide range of subjects, covering office, manufacturing and trade skills, including business administration, IT, customer services, engineering & plumbing.
Local employers that have worked with Rochdale Training apprentices include Rochdale Council, Carcraft, Holroyds, Trufab, Farrels and Dunphys.
A spokesperson for Rochdale Training said: "We want all our apprentices to have long successful careers and we work hard to ensure they place the apprentice with the most suitable local employer. To do this, all applicants are tested and interviewed to ensure their strengths, interests, drive and personality are fully understood in order to make the best apprentice-employer match."
In addition to apprenticeships, Rochdale Training provides many NVQ courses free to employers & employees through the government’s Train to Gain scheme. See www.rochdaletraining.co.uk for details of these and a whole range of business development services such as Leadership & Management, Electrical Training, Health & Safety and Quality Assurance courses.
