Congestion charging - Chamber study
Date published: 25 October 2007
Congestion charging road marking
The Chamber of Commerce is looking for volunteer businesses to assist with a study into the financial impact of congestion charging. The Chamber is interested in hearing from all sectors of the business community, firms of all sizes and from all parts of Greater Manchester.
The aim of this study is to develop a better understanding of the potential costs to business of the current charging proposals. For those taking part, you will work closely with the Chamber to fully understand what is being proposed by the Transport Authority, to analyse your vehicle movements and to calculate any potential costs to the business. We will then look to identify potential options for mitigating any impact from the charge.
This work is said to be vital to enable the Chamber to develop a full understanding of the impacts of any potential road charging scheme and to provide the Chamber with firm evidence to use in campaigning work.
