Help for businesses at free event

Date published: 30 October 2008

It’s not easy running a business right now – but do you know about all the help that’s available to you?

Independent companies across Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale are invited to a free business seminar being run by Rochdale Council. The session, on Monday 10 November, will provide tips on surviving the credit crunch and highlight some of the support available to the local business community.

Advisors at the event will include John Lawson Wild & Co Accountants, Business Link North West, a representative from RBS/NatWest bank, the council’s business advice and business rates teams, and others still to be confirmed.

Councillor Mohammad Sharif, cabinet member for regeneration, said: “We appreciate that times are hard at the moment for local firms so we want to provide as much support as we are able to. There are many people and organisations locally that can help out with advice and services so this is a great opportunity for you to find out where to go for help and get some handy tips.

“The council is committed to promoting and supporting local business and enterprise and if there is the demand, we hope to run further, similar sessions in the future.”

The seminar is at 6.15pm on Monday 10 November at Rochdale Town Hall.

Prior booking is essential as numbers are limited. To reserve a place, call 01706 925110.
