JD Sports relocating to Kingsway

Date published: 24 October 2008

JD Sports Fashion is believed to be the latest company to move to the Kingsway Business Park.

It is thought that the sports clothing manufacturers are behind Wilson Bowden Developments' planning application for 600,000 sq ft of Industrial space at the 170 hectare Kingsway business park.

The Kingsway Partnership has submitted planning for the latest phase of the park and the new unit will include 250,000 sq feet of mezzanine space for storage and assembly purposes.

The developers would not confirm who would be occupying the new unit.

A spokesman for Wilson Bowden said: "Due to the sensitive nature of negotiations, the Kingsway Partnership is not willing to disclose any information regarding potential occupiers. Once contracts are exchanged, news of new businesses coming to Kingsway can be released, in agreement with the new occupier."

Robert Grafton, development director at Wilson Bowden Developments, said: “Even in this difficult market, Kingsway is attracting a high level of interest and enquiries."

There are currently three units on Plot E ready for occupation that range in size from 1,828 sq m (19, 679 sq ft), 3,188 sq m (34, 307 sq ft) and 3, 113 sq m (33, 500 sq ft).

P3 Property Consultants and JLL are the appointed property agents at Kingsway.
