Fair for All
New Fairtrade advent calendars are now available at Rochdale town centre’s Fairtrade shop, Fair for All.
Fair for All is stocking dark chocolate advent calendars from Divine and milk chocolate advent calendars from the Meaningful Chocolate Company, as well as more Christmas gifts than ever before.
Monica added: “We’ve also got more Christmas gifts this year, like jewellery and some beautiful children’s knitwear from Peru.”
The Meaningful Chocolate Company uses Fairtrade-certified ingredients – meaning farmers and growers in developing countries receive a fairer price – including its sugar and cocoa, which are sourced from co-operatives across the globe before being blended in Belgium, Switzerland or the UK.
The calendars, the shop’s owner, Monica Fowler, explained, were exceedingly popular last year, thanks to their ‘real chocolate’ status and “wonderful taste.”
The calendars also include a free 24-page Christmas story activity book – illustrated by award-winning artist, Martina Peluso – designed to be used every day in Advent.
Divine is the world’s only farmer-owned Fairtrade chocolate maker and its advent calendars feature a vegan-friendly 70% dark chocolate.
Fair for All was founded in 2006, originating as a humble Saturday market stall. With a growing demand for Fairtrade products, the stall grew and became part of the indoor market in the Rochdale Exchange.
With the market closure, it moved to The Walk, and today is found on the ground floor of the Couzens hair salon.
Fair for All is open six days a week from Monday to Saturday, from 9.30am to 4.30pm.
The calendars will be priced from £4.50.
