Trio of Heywood early years nurseries acquired by Kids Planet

Date published: 23 November 2022

A trio of nurseries in Heywood have been acquired by the award-winning nursery group Kids Planet.

Buttercups, Daisy Chain, and Woodlands have joined the Kids Planet group, taking the total number of settings to 141 across the UK.

The new settings are passionate about outdoor learning, and providing quality day-care for children aged 0-5 years.

The Heywood Early Years nurseries value the importance of children learning through play, and encourage children to enjoy doing things for themselves, as independence promotes confidence.

Clare Roberts, CEO at Kids Planet, said: “I am pleased to welcome the Heywood Early Years nurseries into our Kids Planet family, and look forward to supporting their teams as they integrate into our group.

“Their presence helps us develop an even stronger support network within the Greater Manchester area, as they will sit alongside our leading nurseries in that area.”

Darren and Jayne Grindrod, former owners, said: “After 27 years in childcare, it was a difficult decision to hand control over to a new company. From the moment we were introduced to Kids Planet, we quickly became aware that we shared the same high standards, ethos and values.

“We have been reassured throughout that our settings and teams are in safe hands and we have every confidence they will flourish moving forwards.”
