The new 26,500 sq ft development will add 11 industrial units and three hybrid business units
Construction has begun on a new industrial development at Sandbrook Business Park.
The new 26,500 sq ft development will add 11 industrial units and three hybrid business units. The industrial units will be arranged in two facing terraced blocks with units ranging in size from 550 – 2,215 sq ft, whilst the hybrid business units will be split into two semi-detached units of 3,250 sq ft and a standalone unit of 5,164 sq ft.
The new development will complement Northern Trust’s existing ownership at the park which provides 18,454 sq ft of modern office accommodation, split into three detached two-storey buildings.
Mike Grindrod, Director at Northern Trust commented: “Over the last 12 months we have seen strong demand for our industrial accommodation with record low void levels across the portfolio, which has underlined our commitment to expand the portfolio through new acquisitions and development.
“The new development at Rochdale is the fourth site we have commenced work on in the last 6 months; and when completed will provide a range of high quality, modern industrial units ideal for small and medium sized enterprises looking to set up or relocate to the area.”
Sandbrook Business Park is actively managed by Northern Trust’s in house managing agents, Whittle Jones.
John Marrow, Regional Property Director at Whittle Jones added: “The offices at Sandbrook have always proved popular due the sites easily accessible location at the end of the A627(M) and transport links to the M62. I am confident the industrial and hybrid / business units will prove just as popular.”
