Vindon Scientific lands at Kingsway
Date published: 09 September 2008
As reported on Rochdale Online yesterday, Vindon Scientific has now completed its move to Kingsway Business Park. The occasion was marked today (Tuesday 9 September) by an inaugural welcome from the mayor of Rochdale.
The company’s £3.3m move from Saddleworth follows an exchange of contracts with Wilson Bowden in December 2007 and has been completed on-budget and ahead of schedule.
Vindon Healthcare, an AIM listed company, has already had a remarkable year with pre-tax profits soaring 48.7 per cent, from £603,000 to £846,000.
Patrick Jackson, director at Vindon Scientific, commented: “The new facility is four times larger than the old one and provides significant capacity for growth in both manufacturing and on-site storage. We’ve already started the recruitment process too, and this will continue in line with our expansion plans. The support services made available by the Kingsway partnership are unrivalled and we look forward to playing our part in the renaissance of Rochdale.”
Ian Tulloch of Wilson Bowden added: “Vindon have been hugely successful in recent times and I’m glad we’re able to accommodate them at Kingsway. The transport links they’ll have are the best in the North and there’s a great catchment area to recruit from.”
The new headquarters will provide Vindon Scientific with more than 2,700 square metres of office and storage space, and includes a further 2,000 square metres of additional storage space on purpose-designed mezzanine floors. The size and scale of its new accommodation is such that Vindon has been able to consolidate all of its UK operations into one dedicated site at Kingsway.
John Hudson, chief executive at Rochdale Development Agency said: “This is exactly the kind of company we want relocating here. Vindon is a market-leading supplier in the pharmaceutical industry, and has exciting plans for its Kingsway facility. Its arrival is a real boost for the local economy.
“To secure such a high quality occupier in the early stages of the business park’s development is testament to the way Kingsway has successfully positioned itself as a place of choice for those relocating in the North West.”
The three remaining units on Plot E range in size from 1,828 sq m (19, 679 sq ft), 3,188 sq m (34, 307 sq ft) and 3, 113 sq m (33, 500 sq ft) and are now ready for occupation.
P3 Property Consultants and JLL are the appointed property agents at Kingsway.
