Footasylum staff support the NHS Give Blood Campaign
Staff at the Footasylum head office in Middleton gave blood in support of the NHS campaign to find new blood donors in July.
Some of the staff members that took part in the event had the blood group O negative, a rare blood type which the NHS desperately needs to replenish its stocks. There were also many male donors - the NHS is keen to gather more blood donations from men.
Giving blood saves lives; every blood donation can save or improve up to three lives. From blood transfusions during chemotherapy and emergency aid during catastrophic events, blood donors help the NHS with its vital work.
Mike Stredder, the Director of Blood Donation at NHS Blood and Transplant, says: “We know that Footasylum is popular with young people, and we urgently need more young people to register as new blood donors.”
Footasylum has organised another donor event for the 19 September.
