Local businesses rated five-star for food hygiene

The Bird at Birtle
Fourteen local premises have been rated the maximum five-stars for food hygiene in the most recent inspections in June.
The Bird at Birtle on Bury and Rochdale Old Road was found to be ‘very good’ in hygienic food handling, cleanliness and condition of facilities and building, and ‘good’ in the management of food safety.
Cosy Toes at Kirkway Nursery, Lloyds Pharmacy in Middleton, and S&D Convenience Stores were rated ‘very good’ across all three areas, whilst Success to the Plough in Rochdale and Happy Garden in Middleton were both rated ‘very good’ in their food handling and ‘good’ for cleanliness and management of food safety.
Casa Rustica Italian Street Food in Rochdale, Mobile caterers Granelli's Ice Cream and Royds Ices, the Moorcock Inn in Littleborough, Oliver’s café in Milnrow were also found to be ‘very good’ in hygienic food handling, cleanliness and condition of facilities and building, and ‘good’ in the management of food safety.
BMI The Highfield Hospital was rated as ‘good’ in all areas, as were Millfield Care Centre in Heywood and Springhill at the Craven, Rochdale.
