Hanson's Spring into action to beat the heatwave

Date published: 28 June 2018

Noticing the management of Hanson Springs were drooping under the recent heatwave, the company sprang into action to combat the summer heat.

The Mellor Street team normally work in a hot environment, heat treating large coil springs, but the additional high temperatures was pushing them to the limit.

Action was needed and for fortunately, a passing ice-cream van offered a solution. Just like a childhood dream, the sweltering workforce were treated to free ice-creams.

Comments like, "I got a 99 just in time" and, "this free ice cream idea takes some licking" were heard from grateful employees.

The result was a refreshed workforce with lots of smiling faces – some still with ice-cream on them.

Councillor Billy Sheerin commented: “Hats off to the management of Hanson's Springs – a real family-run company in every sense of the word.”
