Training grants available for business leaders
Date published: 21 July 2008
Business leaders across Rochdale are being invited to take up the offer of training grants of up to £1000 to develop their business management skills.
The Centre for Assessment and Recognition North West is offering the leadership and management development grants to help with business innovation and growth across the region.
The money is available to people with direct responsibility for a business and its success, for example the Managing Director, Headteacher, Chief Officer or Chief Executive. The individual must manage a private sector commercial business, voluntary organisation, social enterprise or school and employ between 10 and 249 people.
Andy Zuntz, Executive Director at Rochdale Council, said: “Ambitious and effective leaders have a significant impact on the economic performance of the borough, so this is a great opportunity for you to develop some more skills that’ll have a positive effect on your business and the people you manage.”
The development activity may be a traditional formal ‘programme’, course or qualification or a range of development activities such as coaching, mentoring or action learning or purchase of relevant learning resources such as books or CD ROMs. The funding does not include technical training such as IT skills including training on packages for accounts or project management.
