Rochdale Carpetright to remain open
Date published: 23 April 2018
The Rochdale Carpetright store is to remain open following a national rescue deal, which sees the closure of underperforming stores.
The retailer, which has 409 UK shops, including the one on Whitworth Road, is instigating a Company Voluntary Arrangement (CVA), in a similar move to fashion giant New Look earlier this month.
Commenting on the CVA Proposal, a Carpetright spokesperson said: “Whilst we have announced that we are proposing some store closures recently, we are pleased to report that we will still retain a store estate of over 300 stores.
“Amongst the stores remaining open is the Rochdale store on Whitworth Road and our team there will be delighted to continue to serve their local customers.”
The company is also understood to have secured £12.5m in funding from a major investor to relieve ‘short-term funding pressure’, according to the BBC.
