Date published: 19 April 2018

The Co-op has joined forces with the Quality Food Awards to search for the Small Producer of the Year, 2018.

The annual search to showcase the quality, passion and innovation of locally loved produce is now underway with the coveted award offering shortlisted finalists a host of benefits including the chance to “bag” a listing with the community retailer.

Simon Dryell, Head of Local Sourcing at the Co-op, said: “We are delighted to partner with Quality Food Awards and launch the search for the Small Producer of the Year, 2018. As a community retailer, locally sourced produce is an area where we can see continued sustainable growth driven by consumer demand for trust, provenance and quality.

“At the Co-op we are committed to celebrating, supporting and showcasing local producers - these products consistently display an inspiring mix of quality, pride, history and innovation. Our ambition is for our stores to be at the heart of local life, connecting communities and offering great quality products, when and where our members and customers need them – we look forward to embarking on a search to find the nation’s finest small producers.”

The deadline for entrants is Friday, 15 June.
