The Mayor and Mayoress cut the ribbon at Fabdance Centre
Fabdance opened its new premises in the former Co-op building on Rooley Moor Road on Friday (16 March).
The Mayor and Mayoress, Ian and Christine Duckworth cut the ribbon, declaring the new premises open.
Fiona Briddon, the principal teacher and owner of the centre, said she was “delighted” with the turn out.
Entertainment on the day consisted of a DJ, local face-painters and glitter art for the children, plus Suzie’s Cakes and Elaine Morley, who also sells salt lamps and novelty gifts in addition to providing reiki treatments. Balloons were provided by The Balloon Boutique and Doliz Miah was the official photographer.
Fabdance specialises in disco and street dance classes for children aged 18mths upwards, plus adult fitness classes including boogie bounce, circuits, and legs, bums, tums. The group will also be the first in the area to launch the newest fitness craze, bungee fitness.
The children from the centre perform in Norden carnival each year, and also perform at lots of local charity events throughout the year. Most recently they performed at the Halloween party in the park and the Christmas lights switch-on in Norden.
